Gold and enamel verge watch set with pearls

A very fine Swiss 18K gold, enamel and pearl-set open faced verge pocket watch with an outer protective case, circa 1790. The case back with a polychrome enamel portrait of a Bacchante in classical dress holding a bunch of grapes and with grapes in her hair, translucent royal blue enamel over a sunray engine-turned ground, split-pearl-set bezels. White enamel dial with Arabic hours, outer minute divisions, Arabic quarter-hour numerals and gold fleur-de-lys hands. A frosted gilt full plate movement, fusee and chain, verge escapement, three-arm brass balance with flat balance spring, continental balance cock with polished steel endplate, silver regulation dial.
