Gold keyless pocket watch by Cartier

A rare and exceptional French 18 carat yellow gold extra flat pocket watch with a concealed guillotine dial, and alarm on demand (hours, minutes and quarters), circa 1920. This watch features an 18 line LeCoultre movement base, lever escapement with a straight line anchor, spiral Breguet, bimetallic balance with compensation, frequency 18000 alt/h, ringing with two hammers, cylindrical gong, and sliding control. It has a silvered dial with a Chemin de fer minute track, Roman numerals for the hours, and blued steel Breguet hands. A large round window in the centre with two flaps displays a monogram JD in blue enamel, nets azure. This eclipse model has a case with three bodies, with a pushbutton in the crown (coaxial) that allows the shutters to open with a simple press, also known as a guillotine opening.
