Gold quarter repeating ruby cylinder watch
A fine French 18 carat gold quarter repeating ruby cylinder in a gold open faced case, circa 1825. Keywind gilt bar cylinder movement with suspended going barrel, Fourty three rubies, plain cock with polished steel parachute suspension, blue steel regulator with temperature compensation curb, plain three-arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Ruby cylinder, steel escape wheel. Push pendant for quarter repeating on two polished steel gongs.
Silver engine-turned dial, Roman numerals and outer minute track, blue steel Breguet hands. Fine engine turned 18 carat open faced case. engine-turned band, gold bow and pendant. Wound and set through the plain gilt metal cuvette.
