Gold verge lady’s pocket watch

A fine French, 18 carat gold, painted on enamel and rose-cut diamond-set pocket watch, circa 1775. The back set with a painted on enamel portrait of a young lady with flowers around, the border and bezel set with rose-cut diamonds in silver mounts. White enamel dial, radial Roman numerals, outer minute divisions with five-minute Arabic numerals, winding aperture at 2 o’clock, decorative hands. A hinged, gilt brass full plate movement with cylindrical baluster pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, pierced and engraved balance cock with polished steel coqueret, silver regulator disc brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring. Movement signed.
