Museum pendant pocket watch with chatelaine

A pendant pocket watch with chatelaine, agate cameos and precious pearl trimmings, presumably made by Louis Rey, Marseille, France, circa 1880. The watch has an 18 Carat gold open face case and various matching gold hallmarks. The chatelaine is extremely rare with high quality and finely cut hardstone cameos (probably layered agate), red-brown base, raised black cameo and surrounded by oriental pearls. The particularly beautiful enamel dial has a magnifying glass painting, representing various flowers with a butterfly, fine red gold hands, an inner ring with Roman numerals for the hours and an outer ring with Arabic numerals for the minutes. The movement has a cylinder escapement with crown winding and wolf’s teeth.
