Pocket watch former property of a noble family
–
A pink gold French verge watch with striking mechanism on bell of very fine quality, former property of a noble family (Earl’s coat of arms), probably made in France, circa 1820. The open faced numbered case with a bell and fine sound openings was crafted from 18 Carat pink gold and has its back beautifully engraved French Earl’s coat of arms with a nine pointed crown. The very well preserved white enamel dial has an outer ring with black Arabic numerals for the minutes (outside) and the hours (inside). The movement has a verge escapement and an hours and quarter repeater.
