A magnificent quarter repeating French gentleman’s verge pocket watch with two jacquemarts, circa 1820.
An 18-carat pink gold case with a protective cap with a hinge. The enamel dial has two Jacquemarts, a man and a woman, are shown in Roman armour of three shades of gold; they strike the hours on a large bell mounted in the lower half of the dial with their hammers. The top half of the dial has a small hour dial with Arabic numerals. A full plate movement, keywind, chain/fusee, and three-arm brass balance.
