A very rare, decorative and skeletonized French quarter repeating gentleman’s pocket watch á Trois Couleurs with 2 jacquemarts and automaton, circa 1820.
The 18 carat rose gold polished case has a reeded case band, pusher for repetition via pendant, and case maker’s punch mark FLB. The dial is skeletonized with gold jacquemarts, an automaton á Trois Couleurs, and two bell striking putti moving up and down columns. It has a blued steel background; within lush vegetation, a dog sitting on the ground and a pair of doves; an outer white enamel chapter ring with Arabic numerals, and blued spade hands. And the full plate movement is keywind and fire gilt, with engraved border, chain/fusee, two hammers / two gongs, three-arm brass balance, and fine florally engraved and pierced balance bridge.
