A very fine, rare French gentleman’s quarter repeating pocket watch with jumping hour indicator, circa 1820. 18 carat rose gold engine turned case with engine turned band, gold dome with engraving and pusher for repetition via pendant. Silver, engine turned, regulator dial with digital jumping hours, peripheral minute dial with Arabic numerals, auxiliary seconds and blued Scotties hands. Bridge movement, keywind, frosted, gilt, with two hammers, two gongs, stone cylinder escapement, three arm brass balance, blued, temperature compensated balance spring and shock protection parachute.
