Pocket watch with an anker chronometer escapement

An important anker chronometer watch in the original box, made by the Uhrenfabrik Union in Glashütte, Germany, circa 1900. This watch features a numbered 18 carat gold case and an enamel dial with an outer minute and hour that with Arabic numerals for the 5 minute intervals (red) and the hours (black), a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock and gold hands. The numbered, glazed and quality 1A movement is fitted with an anker chronometer escapement, a chronometer balance wheel, a gold escape wheel, screwed gold chatons and a fine adjustment.
The case and movement have matching numbers and the dial and movement are signed.
