Gold Glashütte hunting cased pocket by A.Lange & Söhne

A heavy, almost new German Glashütte hunting cased pocket watch with minute repeater, circa 1900. This exquisite timepiece features an 18K red gold Louis XV-designed case with an engraved monogram CM and a glazed movement. The enamel dial showcases Breguet-style radial hours, an outer minute track, a subsidiary dial for the seconds, and gold Louis XV-style hands. The watch also boasts a 3/4 plate movement, two hammers / two gongs, a gold screw compensation balance, and a lever escapement. On July 4th, 1900, it was sold for 1235 marks to the company Wilkens & Danger in Bremen. It comes with an extract from the archives of the watch museum in Glashütte and a copy of the Lange & Söhne workbooks.

The pocket watch is in excellent condition and produces a pleasing, clear tone when the repetition is activated. According to the extract from the archives of the Glashütte Watch Museum, this particular watch, featuring a minute repeater and hunting case, was sold for the grand sum of 1235 marks. It was delivered to the company Wilkens & Danger, a Bremen-based goldsmith, jeweller, and watch dealer that has been in operation since 1862.
