Gold quarter repeating pocket watch

A very fine and rare French, 18 Carat gold, quarter repeating pocket watch, circa 1810. Bearing Paris punch marks for 1809. Double wheel duplex escapement, accompanied by a brass mounted oak box. An Empire case, reeded bezel and band, the back engine-turned and with a central oval cartouche, loose ring bow. Hinged gilt metal cuvette.  White enamel dial by Luard, Breguet numerals, outer minute track. Blued steel Breguet hands.

A Lépine calibre, frosted gilt movement, standing barrel, double-wheel duplex escapement with polished steel escape wheel, three arm brass balance, blued steel flat balance spring, index regulator, the escapement jewelled, repeating on two square section gongs activated by a slide on the band. Dial and cuvette signed.
