It is interesting to note the engraving ‘Pat Jan 13, 1891’ on the central bridge of this watch. This refers to the American patent for the bridge layout in the movement. In addition to this, the cam-wheel regulator and three gold train wheels featured on this watch are technical specifications reminiscent of the fine watches created by Patek Philippe for Gondolo and Labouriau of Brazil. For a similar examples and discussion, see Huber, M., and Banbury, A., Patek Philippe Watches.Extract from the Archives confirming dial details and sale in 1892.
