A very rare Swiss 18 carat gold open faced jumping hour lever pocket watch, circa 1891. Retailed by the South American retailer Enrico Volpe, Bari. Sold on August 19th, 1892. Lever movement, keyless winding, 11 jewels. Off-white dial with an aperture for the jumping hours, outer minute divisions and subsidiary seconds at 6. Engine-turned case. Dial signed by the watchmaker and retailer, case and movement signed and numbered. Comes with an Extract from the Archives.
