A Swiss enameled gold verge watch by Ph. Terrot & Achard, Geneva, third quarter 18th century. Gilt full plate verge movement, pierced bridge with coqueret, adjustable potence. White enamel dial, Roman chapters, Arabic minute numerals and hands set with brilliants. Enameled case with a wreath set at intervals with brilliants enclosing an engine turned center set with a further rosette of brilliants. Signed dial and movement.

Philippe Terrot (1696-1781) a French huguenot refugee from Pont-en-Royans in Dauphiné came to Geneva in 1700. Granted citizenship in 1732, he married in 1738. He was in partnership with another French émigré, Jean-Pierre Achard from circa 1750 until 1767.
