A fine and unusual decorative watch with connections to the British Royal family. The watch is noted in Britten’s Old Clocks & Watches: Charlepose, London,  gold repeating watch, silver cap engraved with the arms of Queen Anne, outer case set  with lapis lazuli, rubies, and diamonds, about 1705. The nature of the decoration suggest the watch may have been a gift from Queen Anne to Peter the Great or another leading member of the Russian Royal family. The Coat of Arms engraved on the silver dust cover was used by Queen Anne from 1707 until her death in 1714.
