Gold full hunter with exceptional dial
–
A rare Swiss 18 carat gold hunting cased splendour pocket watch with exceptional dial, circa 1860. Delivered to the royal watchmaker G. Riesterer in Madrid, Spain and probably made by Patek Philippe in Geneva. The numbered case is of fantastic quality, elaborately engraved with star motifs and filigree floral tendrils, a masterful work punched with maker’s mark D&D. Champlevé dial with central floral engraving, radial Roman hour numerals, outer dot minute track, outermost applied decoration and baton hands. The movement features an extremely fine Patek Philippe bridge with wolf teeth and special anker, early crown winding after the invention of Adrien Philippe.
