A fine and rare Swiss 18 carat gold open faced minute repeating keyless pocket watch made for the North American market by Patek Philippe in Geneva, circa 1912. Retailed by Tilden-Thurber Co in Providence, Rhode Island, U.S.A. An ultra thin manual wound movement with a nickel lever escapement and 29 jewels. White enamel dial with black Breguet hours, an outer minute track, outermost red Arabic five minute numerals, subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock and gold Louis XV hands. The polished and brushed case with a hinged cuvette and slide to activate the minute repeater at 3. Case, dial and movement signed. Comes with an Extract from the Archives confirming its sale on September 30th, 1913.

This watch features the ‘ultra-thin’ minute repeater calibre 17”, so called ‘Crausaz balance’, made flatter and lighter to be invisible in its owner’s pocket. The hidden hinge to the case is a sign of the highest quality.
