A fine and rare gold and enamel open faced five motion automaton pocket watch, circa 1790. Gilt full plate movement, cylinder escapement, three-arms balance. White enamel dial, Breguet numerals and outer minute track. The back plate with very fine polychrome enamel depicting a pastoral landscape with mountains, forest and river, the automata with vari-colour gold scene with coloured figures comprising a man chopping the branch of tree on a ladder, two men sawing on a foreground and a bird drinking from the fountain. Case and dial signed.
