A center seconds pocket watch rarity with diablotine made for the Chinese market in Fleurier, Switzerland, circa 1860. This beautifully engraved numbered hunting cased watch is crafted from silver and has a cuvette with a magnificent engraved representation of a sailor and the inscription DUPLEX. The white enamel dial has Roman hour numerals, an outer minute track, Arabic quarter hours, a ¼ second diablotine, jumping seconds with a half second beat and decorative gold hands. The movement of excellent quality has a jewelled duplex escapement.
