Attractive pocket watch with painting of two women

An attractive gold enamel watch with painting, made by Mognier & Fils in Genève, Switzerland, circa 1840. This watch has an especially beautiful case, crafted from 18 carat gold, with a curved band in relief on both sides, a multi coloured enamel painting in excellent condition on the back on the central cartouche and a cuvette marked Echappement à cylindre, Quatre trous en rubis. The white enamel dial features Roman hour numerals and filigree Breguet steel hands. The movement has a cylinder escapement and is key wound.
The cuvette is signed.
