A fine and large Swiss, 18 carat gold, painted enamel pocket watch, circa 1800. The back is set with a painted enamel of a shepherd and shepherdess in a polychrome landscape background, gold paillon border, outer royal blue enamel border with gold leaf paillon and green enamel decoration, pendant and bow in enamel forming foliate and geometrical patterns. White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, outermost Arabic five minute numerals and gold Louis XVI hands. Frosted gilt, full plate movement, fusee and chain, cylinder escapement, three arm brass balance with flat balance spring, continental balance cock with diamond endstone. Movement numbered.
