A gold full hunter cased watch with repeater, made by Patek & Comp in Genève, Switzerland, circa 1850. This numbered full hunter cased watch was crafted from 18 carat gold and is engine turned on both sides and the champlevé decorated dial has Roman hour numerals and steel hands, The very rare movement has a typical construction of the winding wheels, wolf’s toothing, a cylinder escapement and a quarter repeater.
The accompanying box which is signed A. Cairelli Roma Consessionario Patek, Philippe & Cie, is probably from a later date.

The item presented here  is one of the earliest pocket watches made by Antoine Norbert de Patek in collaboration with Jean-Adrien Philippe and has crown winding and complications. The dial and hands are no longer original.

Patek, Philippe & Co
Patek & Comp was the initial name of Patek, Philippe & Co. In 1839, Antoine Norbert de Patek and François Czapek founded Patek, Czapek & Cie. After Patek and Czapek parted ways, Patek partnered with Adrien Philippe and the company was renamed Patek & Comp, which later became Patek, Philippe & Co in 1851.
