Pocket watch with gold and jasper case and chatelaine

A rare lépine pocket watch with gold and jasper case and a gold and jasper chatelaine, made by Cne Corniquet in Switzerland, circa 1850. The open faced case of this watch which was crafted from 18 carat gold has jasper on the back and the screwed white enamel dial has Roman hour numerals and gold hands. The movement has a cylinder escapement.
The cuvette is signed.

The watch presented here comes with a matching very valuable chatelaine with jasper setting, also 18 carat gold, leton on the back as usual, including a revolving signet pendant and a key, however not matching the square of the watch.
