An early very fine pocket watch with chronometer escapement, made in Switzerland circa 1850. The open faced case of this watch is crafted from 18 Carat Gold in a water drop shape with a reeded central part and a dust cover marked chronometer. The white enamel dial has Roman hour numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial and has filigree fleur de lys hands made of blued steel. The bridge movement with a key winder has a chronometer escapement and a gold screw chronometer balance.
