An early Swiss 18 carat multicoloured gold verge pocket watch by Isaac Soret & Fils, circa 1750. The watch features a signed mechanical verge movement. Its white enamel dial is also signed and displays Roman numerals for the hours, an outer minute ring, Arabic numerals for five minute intervals, a winding square at 2 o’clock, and Louis XV style hands. The case is made of 18 carat multicoloured gold with floral relief decoration and a high quality lateral hinge.

Isaac Soret was born on February 15, 1673, in Geneva to Barthélemy Soret and Susanne Terroux. He was the brother of Jacques Soret. On July 10, 1699 (Julian calendar: July 20, 1699), he married Hélène Definod (c. 1675–1742) in Geneva. Isaac founded the firm Isaac Soret & Fils. His son, David Soret, became a watchmaker and worked with him in the company. His daughter, Susanne Soret, may also have been involved in the business. Isaac Soret also taught Pierre Faure.

Isaac Soret died in Geneva on Friday, November 27, 1750, at the age of 77.
