Gold open faced pocket watch by Vaucher frères
–
A Swiss 18 carat gold open faced pocket watch with two sub dials for separately adjustable time zones, from the first half of the 19th century. This watch is crafted from 18 carat gold, featuring a guilloched silver dial with two golden auxiliary dials that allow for separately adjustable time zones, a subdial for the seconds at 6 o’clock, and a centre seconds hand. The caseband and back are entirely guilloched with a radiating design. It has a gilt brass inner case that is both signed and numbered. The watch operates with a mechanical movement, key winding, and cylinder escapement. A gold watch key, made of 18 carat guilloche gold and metal, is attached.
