Gold enamelled pearl set watch with striking mechanism

An extremely rare pocket watch with unusual striking mechanism made by Roux, Bordier & Cie. in Genève, Switzerland, circa 1800. The case of this watch was crafted from 18 carat gold and is set with oriental pearls on both sides, the back lid has a very rare windmill like enamel decoration in dark blue and the band features sound openings. The white enamel dial has Arabic hour numerals, outer minute divisions with Arabic quarter hour markers and fine gold hands. The extremely unusual movement is fitted with a crescent shaped cylinder escapement and integrated overlapping bells.
The dial and the movement are signed.
