A very fine Swiss 18K gold and painted on enamel pearl-set pocket watch by Clary Geneva, circa 1790. Case border with split-pearl-set bezels, the enamel back panel decorated with a very fine portrait of Clio, the muse of history, on a dark blue translucent ground over radiating engine turning. White enamel dial with dauphine Arabic numerals. Gold Breguet hands. Hinged gilt brass full plate movement with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass continental balance cock with polished steel endpiece, silvered regulation dial. Dial and movement signed.
