A Swiss gold and painted-on enamel form watch in the shape of a padlock, circa 1860. With a hinged cover concealing the dial and a glazed compartment for a photograph in the back. A polished and engraved case, sliding panel over the dial decorated with painted-on enamel flowers, hinged back with an applied gold cartouche, the interior with a glazed compartment for a photograph and hinged gold strut and a hinged gold cuvette. White enamel dial with painted black radial Roman numerals and outer minute divisions and blued steel hands. Shield-shaped movement, gilt brass bar calibre, six jewels, cylinder escapement, plain gilt three-arm balance, flat balance spring, index regulator.
