A fine Swiss, 18k gold, enamel and rose-cut diamond-set form watch, circa 1860. In the shape of a padlock with a loop top that opens and a hinged cover concealing the dial. Accompanied by a gold and turquoise-set watch key in the form of a lady’s hand.
A polished, spring-loaded cover with a rose-cut diamond-set keyhole over royal blue guilloche enamel, hinged back. Hinged gold heart-shaped cuvette. White enamel dial with painted black radial Roman numerals and outer minute divisions. Blued steel hands. Heart-shaped movement, gilt brass bar calibre, eight jewels, cylinder escapement, plain gilt three-arm balance, flat balance spring.
