A Swiss 18 carat yellow gold open faced pocket watch, anonymous, circa 1885. This watch features a crown wind mechanical lever movement, consistent with the quality of late 19th century Swiss production. The white enamel dial features Roman numerals for the hours, Arabic numerals for the minutes, an outer railway minute track, a subsidiary seconds dial, and gold spade hands. The round 18 carat yellow gold case features a hinged back embossed with personal initials. The gold cuvette is inscribed Médaille d’Or de Londres 1885, a distinction awarded at the London International Exhibition of 1885. The case is numbered.
