Founded in 1860 by Jacques Didisheim in Saint-Imier, Switzerland, Juvenia is among the few historic watch brands continuously operating for over 160 years. The company later relocated to La Chaux-de-Fonds, the global hub for luxury watchmaking, where it built a reputation for innovative designs and precision. In 1914, Juvenia made headlines by creating the world’s smallest movement at the time, measuring just 9.5 mm in diameter and 2.5 mm thick.
–
The brand is renowned for its inventive watch displays. The Mystère (Mystery Dial) and the Sextant are its most notable artistic innovations.
–
The Juvenia Sextant gained modern recognition when actor Johnny Depp was seen wearing a vintage model, which features a protractor style hand for hours and a compass needle for minutes.
–
Today, Juvenia is owned by a Hong Kong based group but continues to produce Swiss made watches. Vintage pieces from the 1890s to the 1960s remain highly sought after by collectors for their historical significance and distinctive design language.
