Full plate gilt fusee movement, finely pierced and engraved bridge cock with steel coqueret, plain three-arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Silver regulator dial with blue steel indicator. Enamel dial with subsidiaries for time and date, Arabic numerals, surrounded by a very finely painted scene of an unclothed couple marking their names on a tree, gold hands. Winding through the painted dial. Plain consular case with substantial pendant and bow.
Enamel dials of this quality are very rare. The very finely painted scene shows a pair of unclothed lovers carving their name in the bark of a tree; in the background is a putto holding a torch.
