Gold hunting cased watch in a rosewood box

A very fine Swiss, hunting cased, 18K gold pocket chronometer with the original Moulinié & Legrandroy fitted brass-inlaid rosewood box. Pivoted Detent Chronometer by Moulinié & Legrandroy Genève, circa 1860. Bassine entirely chased with foliate scrolls, hinged and sprung front cover decorated with a wreath of oak leaves and acorns in relief surrounding a monogrammed cartouche, the back cover with an oak leaf and acorn bouquet in relief. Hinged gold cuvette.
White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds, Blued steel fleur-de-lis hands. Nickel-plated movement, Geneva striping decoration, 17 jewels, the escape wheel and detent with gold endplates, gold train, Earnshaw-type chronometer escapement with pivoted detent, jewelled locking stone, cut-bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator. Cuvette signed.
