–
A Swiss decorative half pearl-set gold enamel verge pocket watch, circa 1795. The watch has a gold enamel case with a polychrome enamel miniature painting on the back. The miniature painting is set with half pearls against an opaque black enamel background that depicts a gallant scene. The back cover is glazed to protect the image. The bezels are set with half pearls, and the band is opaque blue and white enamelled Champlevé. The dial is enamel with Arabic numerals and gold hands. The movement is a fine full plate, keywind, fire gilt, signed, chain/fusee, solid pillars, three-arm brass balance, and engraved pierced balance bridge.
