Gold watch with an enamel scene

A very fine Swiss, 18 carat yellow gold and enamel centre seconds pocket watch, circa 1790. The gold bezels are engraved with foliate enamel decoration and the back with a polychrome enamel portrait of a young lady with her son on a royal blue enamel background. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, outermost Arabic five minutes and pierced gold hands. Gilt brass full plate movement with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass continental cock, polished steel end-piece. Dial and movement signed.
