Gold, enamel and pearl pocket watch

A charming 18 carat gold, painted on enamel and pearl set pocket watch, circa 1860. Made for the Chinese market. An Empire case with split pearl set bezels, pendant and bow, reeded band. The back enamel panel is painted with an alpine lake view, and in the centre a dolphin fountain, and a border of flowers and trees. Hinged and sprung glazed gilt brass cuvette. White enamel dial with radial narrow Roman numerals and outer minute, and seconds ring and blued steel Chinese hands. Gilt brass movement, eight day going fully foliate engraved with twin free standing barrels, Jacot dead beat duplex escapement, three arm balance with blued steel winged weights, flat balance spring, index regulator. Movement signed in Chinese characters Tien-yé for Dimier.
