A fine French, 18K gold and enamel lady’s pendant watch, circa 1775. A Louis XV case, master mark JS, rope-twist bezel, the back cover with border en suite and decorated with an annular panel of translucent slate blue guilloché enamel centred by a stylized foliate motif surrounded by white enamel dots. White enamel dial, slightly later, specially made, with Arabic numerals and outer minute track. It has blued steel Breguet hands. A frosted gilt full-plate movement, cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, cylinder escapement, three-arm brass balance, blued steel flat balance spring, pierced foliate chased balance cock spelling the name DUVAL, silvered regulation dial. Dial, dial plate and movement signed.
