Gold cylinder form watch
–
A Pendant watch/form watch, extremely rare oval gold/enamel hunting cased watch with double-sided enamel painting, Haas & Privat La Chaux De Fonds, circa 1860. An 18K gold, extremely rare oval hunting case watch shape, fine enamel painting on both sides, framed by black enamel, case with lavish engraving on both sides, movable bow, below the bow the opening button, dome signed and numbered, gilt cylinder movement with key winding (to be revised), gold-silver Champlevé dial and fine steel hands, very beautiful condition, very rare. According to our research this watch is absolutely rare and we do know only one nearly similar piece but with a different enamel painting. The case maker was very probably E. Bronner in Genèva.
