A fine and charming Swiss spherical, 18K gold and painted on enamel lady’s pendant watch, circa 1790. Gilt, full plate movement, cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring, pierced and engraved continental type balance cock, silvered regulation dial.
The case front cover with a painted on enamel scene of a boy and his pet dog in a landscape, black enamel and foliate edge, the border with the inscription: De Vous Aimer Toujour in white enamel, the back with a painted on enamel scene of a young girl and her pet rabbit in a landscape, black enamel and foliate edge, the border with the inscription: Jai Jure Par L’Amour.
White enamel dial with Arabic numerals, outer minute track, Arabic quarter hour numerals. Dial signed.
