Extremely rare and probably unique Swiss 18 carat gold Jacquemart verge pocket watch made for the English market, circa 1800.
Verge movement, repeating hours and quarters on bell, which is under the raised dial. To the front a multi coloured golden Jacquemart automaton on white enamelled ground. Plain case with engraved band, hinged to both sides with small peripheral buttons, case punch CLR. Case numbered, cuvette, dial and movement signed.

This Jacquemart is of great rarity. Only a few of these bell striking watches are known, most of them with silver cases. This is probably the only piece with bell and the small decentralized dial coaxially arranged to each other. Normally, they are arranged side by side.
