Gold, enamel and pearl set form watch

A rare, very fine gold enamel miniature form watch, studded with half-pearls The Mandolin, circa 1800.
A 14k gold, enamel, later Viennese 14 Carat gold Austro-Hungarian monarchy essay mark 1866-1872. Enamel dial, miniature full plate movement, keywind, chain/fusee, verge escapement, three arm brass balance. The quality of the engraving and enamelling on the case is outstanding. The instrument is finely executed. This is a one of a kind piece of jewellery.

Front and back are decorated with engine turned geometric patterns and translucent red and cobalt blue enamelling.
The sides have Champlevé enamelling and half pearl ornamentation. A white sheet of music framed by green Champlevé enamel foliage is shown on the back. The front is studded with half pearls and decorated with finely scrolled leaves. The glass-panelled sound hole reveals the escapement; the strings are made of gold.
