A fine Swiss 18K gold painted-on enamel and pearl-set pocket watch, circa 1790. The back is finely painted on enamel depicting a couple walking in love in a landscape, translucent Royal blue guilloche background, pearl-set border and bezel, and engraved band. White enamel dial, Arabic numerals, outer minute divisions and Arabic fifteen-minute numerals and gold fancy hands. A hinged, gilt brass full plate movement with turned pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement with micrometric potence adjustment, plain brass three-arm balance, continental cock with polished steel endplate, silvered regulation dial.
