Gold hunting cased lever by F. A. Bergeon

A fine Swiss, 18K gold, enamel and rose-cut diamond-set, hunting cased lady’s pendant watch, circa 1850. The covers are entirely engraved, the front decorated with a rose-cut diamond ‘S’ on a black champlevé enamel striped ground, the back decorated similarly with interlinked ‘L’. Hinged gold cuvette with engine-turned border. White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track with Arabic five-minute numerals, offset subsidiary seconds. Black Breguet hands. A matte gilt movement, bar calibre, ten jewels, lateral lever escapement, notched bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel flat balance spring, index regulator. Cuvette signed.
