A fine and rare, 18K gold slim montre à tact with date and duplex escapement, circa 1850. Gilt brass movement with going barrel, 8 jewels, duplex escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator.
Case with engine-turned back with large revolving à tact hand, engraved with scrolls, gold touch pins on the coin-edge band, engine-turned front cover. Gold cuvette engraved with technical details, with an aperture allowing the tact hand to be caught by the tact wheel.
White enamel dial, eccentric, with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds between 4 & 5, date dial between 7 & 8. Gold Breguet hands. Cuvette signed.
