A fine Swiss silver-gilt, enamel and split pearl-set pocket watch with centre-seconds and duplex escapement, Blue Bouquet, made for the Chinese market, circa 1860. A reeded band, split pearl-set bezels, pendant and bow, the back cover decorated with a painted on enamel bouquet of flowers on an imperial blue ground. Hinged and sprung glazed cuvette for viewing the movement.

 

White enamel dial with slender radial Roman hours, outer minute divisions and Arabic quarter-hour numerals, blued steel flower hands. A gilt-brass movement, Chinese calibre, fully foliate engraved, eight jewels, standing barrel, duplex escapement, monometallic balance with blued steel winged weights, flat balance spring, index regulator.
