Gold, enamel and pearl set cylinder watch
–
An extraordinary and very rare Swiss 18 carat gold, enamel and pearl set hunting cased pocket watch made by Patek Philippe in Geneva, circa 1860. The case is completely black enamelled and set with oriental half pearls, showing a monogram on the front cover and foliage on the reverse. Very well preserved white enamel dial with radial Roman hour numerals, an outer minute track and steel moon hands. Bridge movement with early crown winding, a cylinder escapement, wolf teeth and a special anker. Cuvette signed and numbered, movement, cuvette and case with matching numbers.

The execution of this early gold enamelled full hunter from Patek Philippe is extremely rare. The completely black enamelling and especially the oriental half pearl setting, is very unusual. There is no other Patek Philippe piece in this version known.
