Gold repeating and self striking pocket watch

A fine and rare Swiss 18 Carat rose gold very early trip hour repeating and hour self striking watch with date in a half hunting shagreen outer case, circa 1800. Full plate gilt movement, pierced and engraved bridge cock with steel coqueret, silver regulator disc with blued steel indicator. Striking the hours every hour automatically or on demand, striking on a bell.
Trip repeaters allow the user to elegantly and effortlessly sound the repeater with the light push of a button.
Inner case with engraved bezels and plain back with two winding apertures for the two spring barrels. outer shagreen and gilt protective case, decorated with piqué pins.
White enamel dial with Arabic numerals, blued steel Breguet hands and blued steel date hand.

Trip repeaters are much more advanced and complex. Using two barrels, this timepiece chimes with a simple push of the trip button and the chiming function can be repeated several times before the spring needs to be rewound.
