Silver open faced lever pocket watch

A Swiss silver open faced pocket watch with early crown winding mechanism made by Patek Philippe in Geneva, circa 1860. Retailed by A.H. Rodanet & Co in Paris. Sold on January 26th, 1863. Comes with an Extract from the Archives. The smooth case is engraved with a monogram and crest of the Order of the Garter with a royal crown above, reading the motto Usque Quo in black enamel. Bridge movement with a lever escapement and gold screw compensation balance. White enamel dial with Roman hour numerals, outer minute divisions, sunk subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock and blued hands. The cuvette is numbered and signed Patek, Philippe & Co à Genève – A.H. Rodanet & Co 38 Rue Vivienne Paris.
